Join us for an adventure made to order for diving enthusiasts yearning to explore far away dive sites.  We begin this trip with some of the world’s best muck diving around the island of Ambon. This muck diving paradise provides divers with the opportunity to see some of the ocean's most amazing small critters including, if lucky, the psychedelic frog fish found only Ambon. After a couple days of diving with amazing critters, we head off to cross the Banda Sea.

Away from most human population and mass fishing, the untouched Banda Sea provides divers with a colorful underwater world and healthy coral reefs. The island group in the Banda Sea, in Eastern Indonesia, consists of nine islands from which Great Banda is the largest. The islands themselves have been divided into two chains: volcanic islands in the central area and limestone islands in the eastern area. Some of the volcanoes are still active! The Banda Sea does not only offer unforgettable diving experience but it also allows a glimpse of the rich history of the spice trades. Our crossing of the Banda Sea provides many different sites to explore including shore excursions to see rare birds and other wildlife.

Big fish are a main attraction for divers in the Banda Sea with whales, hammerhead sharks, dogtooth tuna, and mobula rays making appearances. On occasion, spinner dolphins and orcas join the trip. Joined by a blue whale expert, one of our goals is to find and swim with these giant, majestic creatures of the sea.

Because of the health and abundance of the coral reefs, large schools of fish will also be there for the viewing. The stunning biodiversity of the Band Sea offers you environments ranging from black volcanic sand slopes to huge coral gardens. With water temperatures ranging from 80F to 84F and visibilities reaching upwards of 80 to 100 feet, we can stay underwater for long periods of time and see everything around us.

The M/V Pindito

This trip will be my third time aboard the Pindito in less than two years. Besides the fact they dive some of the world's best destinations, it is one of the most comfortable liveabords I've been on. And, as Jim, who's been on numerous liveabaords put it, "this is hands down the best service I've experienced on a boat."

Within minutes if being on the boat, I, and many others, remarked how it felt like home. The boat is roomy with a warm cozy feeling. The crew, all 21 of them, are constantly working with a smile and energy that makes you feel welcome and cared for. The dive deck is spacious and easily accommodates the 16 divers. The food is exquisite. Every meal is different, and you will experience a variety of local Indonesian and other dishes to tantalize you taste buds.

When you need a break from it all, laze in the sun or shade on the rosy sundeck taking in the stunning views surrounding us!
